Trunk

A lotta light coming in where the quarter used to be. Since it had to go anyway it made working on the trunk a lot easier.

This is a good look at what it will look like when you are done. All the welds and seams have been ground smooth and it awaits the addition of the trunk extensions. These are little items that Mopar dreames up that mate the lower quarters to the trunk pan. The repops of these are not too bad but they do require paitence and a little thought to get right.

Here is the right trunk extension. These can be a bear to fit so take your time and keep fitting and adjusting until you are happy with the fit. Also keep in mind that all seams in the trunk will receive a healthy dollop of seam sealer so if you have a little gap don't spend hours and hours making it dissapear as they did not do this when the car was new either

The ends of the extensions do not extend all the way to the valence at the rear of the trunk leaving a healthy gap. Mopar's answer to this gap was to glop a base ball-size dab of seam sealer and just goop it in. I added a small tab to the end of the extension that will at least not cause a world seam-sealer shortage when I go to fill the gap.

Pretty well finished with this portion of the project and I can't say goodbye to it soon enough. Not a fun way to spend a few wekends

Don't forget to weld in all your spare tire and jack brackets. You did measure and mark where they go before you cut out the old trunk, didn't you?
