A look at the rear of the car when we got it. The trunk contained boxes and boxes of parts and was a treasure hunt finding things like the original Hemi emblems and all the power steering brackets and pullys. After we drug all the boxes from the trunk the site was not so pretty as you will see.

After we dissambled the car we grew less optimistic about how much of it we would have to replace as the rust was looking pretty extensive.

Well, at this point I am hoping that the frame rails survive the dippers.

When was the last time that you saw an original Mr. Norms sticker on a car? For those of you who don't know who Norm is he owned Grand Spaulding Dodge in chicago and if there was a performance mecca for Mopar heads it was Mr Norms. We run into Norm at some of the Nostalgia Drag Racing events we run at and he told me that he would send me something for the Charger when he got home. A package came and it had an original dealer key fob and two original stickers, how cool! If you would like to check out his Sport Club just go to Mr Norms Sport Club

Here is the bad news from the dippers, it all has to go. Actually that is what I like about dipping a car, you truly find out what is left under all that rust scale and paint. In this case it looks like the trunk is a total write off.

A look at the other side confirms that it all has to go. Time to get out the spot weld cutters and grinders and go to work.

After about eight hours of really nasty work all the bad is gone and we can get prepping for the new floor.
