Springs

I used a long Phillips screwdriver to align the springs & zincs before bolting them together. A good idea is to leave the screwdriver in and clamp the leaves together then insert the bolt. Don't forget to make sure the springs and zincs are all aligned on the edges before bolting them together,

A couple of tools you will need to install the clamps are a good solid hammer and a stout piece of oak. The oak lets you tap the clamps into shape without marring the clamps.

First slip the clamp onto the spring then using either a Vise Grip or C Clamp pull the bottom of the clamp up tight to the spring. After the clamp is centered on the hole and is tight to the spring use a C Clamp to pull the sides tight to the leaves.

Using the hammer and piece of oak drive the side of the clamp with the small stud over the leaves and make sure the stud is centered in the hole. Take a second to turn up the tab and the end of the clamp with a pair of pliers, as this will be needed soon.

Now take the oak and your hammer and tap the other side of the clamp over the tang from the first side. Make sure the clamp stays firmly seated to the spring while tapping it over.

After you hammer the tang over the clamp take a Vise Grip or C Clamp and squeeze the clamp to the spring to make it seat down tightly.

Here is the clamp installed and seated to the spring. Good job now you only have only 7 more to go!

Now the fun starts with juggling the Dana and the springs to get them bolted in. I always use a dab of Loc-Tite on all the nuts & bolts just to be sure.

After you get it all settled in start tightening the bolts until it is all lined up.

Here is the driver's side spring in the car and you can see some of the other details on the rear end. The shocks are gas-charged versions from NAPA and look close to the originals while offering a better ride and the pinion snubber is the original with a new coat of paint to look like natural metal.
