This is the shell after a coat of PPG epoxy primer and anothr two coats of PPG filling primer. The Epoxy primer is used for a base over the e-coat as it stick to pretty much anything and provides a good grip for the sanding primer/filler.

Since this car sat for so long every piece of metal that was not replaced has pitting to some degree and all those pits need to be filled. The majority of them were filled with the high-build primer but some required a small bit of glaze to smooth them out.

You can see how much easier it is to work on this stage of the process since it is mounted on the rotisserie. I shudder to imagine the mess of having to sand all this filing primer laying on your back.

The inner fender wells were not too bad just some sanding and some filler over the patches I welded in to smooth them out.

While it is a little hard to see the dipping revealed a crease in the replacement quarter that was covered by some body work from long ago. It just needed a little pulling out and some filing to make it good again.

There it is all smooth again and now to start working on getting those pesky cornercaps to fit better.
