The GTX tail lights are different from a Road Runner's in they are deeper housings with the lens recessed. These are not too bad with very minimal pitting and all the pins intact so they will take a trip to the platers then come home for some detailing. The argent paint is of a textured variety so Mopaints or Totally Auto will get the call for the specialty finish paint they will need.

The other side is about the same so we will send them off as a pair unless some cleaner ones show up on e-bay or Moparts. The lenses are clean with no cracks so they will get the plastic polishing treatment and look like new with just some elbow work.

This side of the rear window looks pretty clean too. I am sure once the car gets dipped some rust hole will appear but it does not look too extensive so the repair should be small.

I hope with some time on the buffer the chrome around the side vents comes out clean as taking these apart to get the frame chromed and then putting them back together is a pain in the ass. It looks like there are no “Pepper” marks in the chrome so maybe I will get lucky with this one.

One word for this is YUK. Quarters, trunk extensions and outer wheel wells are in my future to make this right again. Oh well, that is just the price you have to pay sometimes.

The front of the quarter does not get any better with extensive rust in the panel, wheel well and rocker. Once back from its dip we will be able to see what needs to go and what can stay but I think the inner rocker will need some help on this side.

I shot this to show the rust in the bottom of the fender that will require a patch but also to show the factory door/fender gap. Even though this is the way they came we will tighten up the gaps to make the car fit better than it did. I know this is not sticking to the total resto book but c'mon that gap is big enough to drive a truck through!
