Final Fit
This is the section where all the panels get attached and aligned to the car. When the car left The Hot Rod Haus Kevin & Joe, they guys who did the work said they would come by the house when it was time and do the final fit & finish of the body panels. Shortly after that Kevin & Joe left The Hot Rod Haus and started Nostalgia Auto Body In Island Lake IL. One of the first things they did was to call me and asure they woudl still honor their committment of finishing out the panels on the Charger. My hat is off to these two honest and talented body guys so if you need the best paint job on the planet give these guys a call at and ask for Ginger and he will take care of you!

Well the car is pretty far along and the motor is all sorted out so it seems to to put a nose on. Ginger and Joe from Nostalia Auto body came over and true to their word spent the afternoon drinking beer and making the Chrager look les like a dirt modified and more like the sharp car it has become

Here is Ginger making sure the innner fender splash guards are lined up and will fit the fender when it goes on

This is the first test-fit of the driver's side fender to see how the pick up points of the mounts will line up. All of this was already done when the car was in primer so the panels should fall in pretty close.

He is Joe diving for the lower mount and shimming it to match the door lines and ensure smooth operation of the door.

Here we have added the grille and header panel. The best way to do this is to have three people, one to hold, one to align and one to snug the bolts. Don't tighten any of the mounting bolts yet as it needs to get fit to the fenders first.

Here it seems to be shaping up pretty well. The read doors are lining up good with an even, tight gap between them and the door. The grill is provding a reference to space the front so all is going smooth.

Now that is a door gap to be proud of! This is what you a re going for when aligning your panels. The gap is supposed to be about the thickness of a paint stir stick and even all around.
