Fender

A lot of dinging and shrinking and the surface is smooth and even. Some of the dents were under a brace and required extended spoons and oak bucks to be able to hammer them flat but be dilligent, and you will have a smooth surface.

Now a quick, thin skim coat and some sanding with the long board will finish out the top for primer.

Here is the top after 4-coats of high-build primer ready for some guide coat sanding. I like to start with 240 them go to 320 dry and save the 400 & 600 for the final wet sanding.

The inside of my fenders were rust-free so other than sanding the high-build smooth they will require no work.

Same with this side very little work is required on the inside other than a little dry and wet sanding.

The passenger side top was very smooth and you can see the front edge came out very good with just a little filler to make it smooth and even.

The next step is to do a little sanding to crisp out the bodyline and smooth the edges with the high-build primer and these are ready to go.
