Accomodations

Hello Trippers

Turkey Run State Park is a good choice for the trip right now as it offers some good choices for accommodations.

CAMPING

If you are looking to be in the woods and take in the entire experience the campsite are pretty good and offer a lot of amentias that some campground do not. All of the campgrounds offer a fire pit and a picnic table and the best thing is they now offer electricity. This is a big one for you coffee drinkers as the first thing in the morning is to plug in the pot and make some hot Joe. Most of the sites are well drained and with the correct gear can be made very homey.

Turkey Run Park Lodge

For you trippers that are camping challenged there is the Turkey Run Lodge that offers a close but more civilized option. Turkey Run Inn was built in 1919. Over the years, it has undergone changes, additions, and modifications. It has been decades since the excursion trains from Chicago delivered adventuresome travelers for a holiday at the Turkey Run Inn, but the allure of this beautiful facility continues as strong as ever.

Today, Turkey Run Inn provides the comfort of a modern facility with the ambiance of a rustic country inn. Sixty-one rooms in the main lodge and a full-service dining room provide ample space for meetings, conventions, parties, and other group events. Turkey Run Inn also operates five buildings with cabin rooms available for rent, as well as three separate cabins.

Area Lodging

Since the Inn fills up pretty quick that weekend here are some other suggestions for the camping impaired.

I can't recomend any of these places as I have not stayed in any but the Lew Wallace Inn might give you that taste of Mid Americana you are looking for or maybe just somehting you need to see your doctor about. Either way unless you want to be in Lew's Place I would call early.
