Welcome to the Body and Paint Section of 69hemi

Even after all the metal is welded and ground smooth there still is a long way to go until paint can be sprayed. This section will cover taking the repaired sheet metal and prepping it for the final painting. Along the way we will cover the different types of filler to be used for different stages of the project and why. What primers to use when and how to apply them a well as how to sand them will be looked at here.

Finally we will cover the final prep & detail work that will make the paint job a success from duplicating Mopar's techniques for seam sealing to how to frost the body color under the car. On to pain what type and why will be explained as well as the options available in finishes. Painting tips and other how-to tips regarding color sanding and buffing will be looked at.
